Mechanic
The East Columbia Basin Irrigation District is accepting applications for an Open Mechanic position.
Duties Include (but are not limited to):
- Maintenance and repair of:
- Automobiles and pickups
- Light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks
- Construction equipment including:
- Bulldozers
- Tractors
- Tractor-mowers
- Road graders
- Cranes
- Weed sprayers
- Road and excavating equipment
- Work on diesel, gasoline, and propane engines
- Repair and maintenance of portable generators, pumps, tampers, and related equipment
Position Details
- Starting Wage: $32.16/hour + benefits
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Ditchrider
The East Columbia Basin Irrigation District is currently accepting applications for a Moses Lake Ditchrider.
Position Summary:
Ditchriders are responsible for the timely regulation and delivery of irrigation water to water users along an assigned route during the water season. This position also performs routine and emergency canal maintenance as needed.
Work Schedule:
• Water Season: Monday–Saturday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• Non-Water Season: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Pay:
Starting at $27.51 per hour

Realty Specialist
The East Columbia Basin Irrigation District (ECBID) is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time Realty Specialist position located in Othello, WA. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the management and development of critical water infrastructure while working in a collaborative and dynamic environment.
Position Summary
The Realty Specialist supports critical infrastructure and water delivery projects by managing real estate transactions, easement acquisitions, and land rights necessary for District operations. This position works closely with internal departments, landowners, consultants, and regulatory agencies to ensure timely and accurate completion of property-related project needs.
This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role that plays a key part in supporting agricultural water delivery systems throughout the Columbia Basin.
Essential Duties
- Coordinate and manage easement and land acquisition activities for District projects
- Prepare, review, or obtain legal descriptions, maps, and property exhibits
- Communicate directly with landowners regarding access, compensation, and acquisition agreements
- Obtain and review title reports and property ownership records
- Support environmental, cultural and other regulatory compliance for acquisition projects
- Coordinate with engineers, project managers, consultants, and outside agencies
- Maintain accurate records, files, correspondence, and acquisition documentation
- Track project schedules and ensure deadlines are met
- Contract development and execution related to property transactions
- Perform additional duties as required
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- College coursework in Real Estate, Public Administration, Business, Law, or related field preferred
- At least 1 year of experience in real estate transactions, property management, title work, or related administrative functions
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred Experience
- 5+ years of experience in easement acquisition, land rights, or real estate transactions
- Experience working with landowners, public agencies, or utility/infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with legal descriptions, deeds, and property records
- Background in public works, irrigation districts, or realty acquisition
